Nothing changes your bike like a set of supple tires. Compass tyres roll fast and absorb vibrations. Their tread grips supremely, both in wet and dry conditions. Their allroad tires have a file tread designed for conditions from smooth pavement to rough gravel. The Barlow Pass is a great road tire for 700C bikes with moderately large clearances, they go soooo good on a Genesis Croix de Fer!
The Barlow Pass tires are named after a pass on the Mountain Loop Highway, a scenic gravel road through the central Cascades. The road leads past the ghost town of Monte Cristo before ascending the pass. On the long straights and sweeping turns of this gravel road, the extra stability of a large-wheeled bike can provide an advantage as you descend at high speed.
The Barlow Pass is tubeless-compatible.
When used with tubes, we recommend Schwalbe SV17 or SV18 tubes.
